Bambams newborn fitted nappies fit preemies (we’ve even had a 1.2kg preemie wearing them) though to around 8kg (on average to around 5-6 months, but this obviously depends on the weight and build of your baby).
Bambams are made up of two separate pieces – the shaped body of the nappy, which is made of two layers of bamboo terry, as well as a separate trifold/booster which is also two layers of bamboo terry fabric. This gives you the ability to place the boosting exactly where you need it to prevent leaks, but also allows for faster drying.
Bambams are secured by a Snappi which means that you can tailor the sizing to exactly where you need it. While snaps and Velcro are great for securing cloth nappies, when it comes to tiny newborns with those cute wee chicken legs and round tummies, getting a good seal around the legs can be tricky.
Being able to pull Bambams around the legs and then fold down the excess fabric at the front allows the fit around the legs to be perfect, with no gapes for potential poonamis to escape (SO important with a newborn!). Bambams need a separate cover to go over the top, and this provides an added layer of protection for trapping any leaks.

Heading away on holiday with your little one? Looking forward to creating lots of fun memories on beautiful NZ summer days? Having fun often involves mess, find out how reusable changemats and wetbags can make your life easier!
If you’re new to Bubblebubs nappies you might have noticed that our cloth nappies look quite different to a lot of others available. That’s because ours have two rows o snaps that fasten at the sides/hips instead of at the front. Why would we do that? There’s a few good reasons why, read on to find out more!
